Our story

 Welcome to The Spa 493- Yes, that's right you may have passed us on your way to visiting the village of Penistone or the local Tesco's.... after all you couldn't miss us! But for those not so familiar. In 2014 The spa 493 was created to hopefully become a cosy and luxurious beauty salon. It was our absolute wish to create a place where everyone can visit, feel comfortable, relax, unwind and indulge in some special "me time". A second home.

We have had 10 wonderful years as the little yellow shop in front of the roundabout, it will always have a huge spot in our hearts, however it was time to grow into our next decade chapter, bringing new exciting additions, collaborations with other fantastic businesses and to expand our wish in creating the ultimate experience for you. We are thrilled to share that our new location premises of course still in the heart of Penistone, just 100m up into the village in the stunning historic old bank building on the corner.

The salon is continuing to offer an extensive, variety of treatments, from all your essential maintenance beauty treatments to blissful, relaxing holistic massages and facials. Collaborating with some fantastic stylists we can now share the spa 493 at the old bank will have hair stylists and a blow dry spa bar section.

If that wasn't enough excitement we will now be able to offer more frequent spa events for intimate special occasions. Perfect for small group gatherings as we have a relaxation snug to accommodate.
